Company Background

The Churchill Navigation Legacy

Churchill Navigation developed its industry-leading augmented reality mapping software, ARS, in 2006.  ARS quickly became the industry-standard for a wide range of markets including airborne law enforcement and firefighting, ISR, border security, search and rescue, electronic newsgathering and utility inspections.

In August 2020, Churchill Navigation acquired SHOTOVER Camera Systems, now called SHOTOVER Systems, to bring the best of two cutting edge technologies together to deliver complete solutions for its customers backed by industry-leading service, training and support.

The SHOTOVER Legacy

Born from an obsession with flying, filmmaking and broadcasting, SHOTOVER  was developed in 2009 by the most respected engineers, pilots, and cinematographers in the industry. Their single-minded goal was to integrate the ultimate stability, versatility and ease of use.

Today, SHOTOVER systems are relied upon by production companies, broadcasters and industrial survey companies across the globe. The company’s flagship SHOTOVER K1 has become a Hollywood staple and remains the industry’s only Academy Award winning stabilized gimbal system on the market.

The M2 builds on what Shotover gimbals are known for -- excellent picture quality and stabiliation, and adds what Churchill has always been known for -- an excellent user interface, ease of use, and relentless innovation.
